Ruth Thomas

I started making collagraphs - a print from a collage - in 1992 and in recent years I have returned to working with found materials. The feathers, grass, leaves, bark and seeds in my prints make reference to my rural background and love of nature.

 A collagraph has the quality of a cast and always retains a ghost of the original material or object.

I trained in Fine Art at Coventry (1982 – 5) and Leeds (1992 – 4) and have exhibited nationally and internationally. I now work from my print studio in Flintshire and run workshops in printmaking and murals in schools and galleries in the region.

Ruth has staged a successful solo exhibition at manorhaus and has contributed works for Oriel 3.
